Dear brothers and sisters in Christ! Today we will talk about the importance of our spiritual gifts and the role of each of us in the Church. In a world where many people seek their place and purpose, we must realize how each of us can contribute to the life of the Church.
From the very beginning, God has called us not only to salvation but also to service. In
1 Corinthians 12:4-7, we can see that the spiritual gifts we receive are diverse and have one purpose - to serve one another.“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.”
The Holy Spirit, who lives in us, gifts each of us with precisely the gift that is necessary for building the Church. It is important to understand that our gifts are not just about us. It’s about how we can serve others, create an atmosphere of love and unity, and impact the lives of those around us. When we actively participate in the life of the Church, we live not only for ourselves but for the entire body of Christ.
Every gift, from the smallest to the greatest, is important. In
Romans 12:6-8, the Apostle Paul urges us to use our gifts according to how we have been called.“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”
If you are not sure what your gift is, start with simple actions. Serve in small things, help your brothers and sisters, engage in various ministries. Gradually, as you serve, you will understand what gifts you possess. Your own service can become a source of great blessing not only for you but for others as well.
Our goal is love, which we express through our actions, deeds, and service. I encourage you to seek God's face in prayer and ask Him to reveal your gifts. Trust that God never abandons those who seek His will.
In conclusion, remember that each of us is an important element of God's plan. As it is said in
Ephesians 4:16, we grow in love when each of us fulfills our role. May our service be fruitful, and may He be glorified in our hearts and among us.“From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”
